Updates about Me #2

Today's update is about social networking.
As most of you have probably realized, i don't have a Facebook account anymore! Subsequently a few weeks ago, i deactivated my Twitter account too. Since then, some people have tried to persuade me to reactivate both accounts, but not a single person has convinced me yet. And i'm not sure if i'll ever be convinced, to be honest. Hmm, maybe i should explain myself, that way everyone will probably understand why i don't wanna be active on those social networking sites anymore.

Lets start with Facebook. I was a Facebook addict. Really. For a year and a half or something. Everywhere i went, i just HAD to log into Facebook. I had lots of real-life friends there, especially from Australia and school. I found it kinda cool that some debaters from debate competitions added me too, lol. Lots of people wished me Happy Birthday when i was 14. I was addicted to Farmville and Restaurant City. I stalked my friends. I was part of the "Become a Fan" button before they changed it into the "Like" button. Those were the simple days of Facebook when they didn't have chat and so many settings. One day i got tired of it. All of it.
So i posted a few last statuses saying i was going to deactivate and stay on Twitter. Some of my friends in Australia begged me to stay, but i stood firm with what i wanted to do. It was a big decision for me, because i know that if i deactivated Facebook, i'm going to lose contact with most of my friends. But of course, that was far from my intention.
I deactivated Facebook because:

  1. It was getting complicated and boring.
  2. I wasted half of my 14-year-old life on it.
  3. Fattah convinced me to.
  4. I wanted a little bit of privacy in my life.
  5. It was getting crowded and everyone started to make it the invention of the century or something.
So then I moved to Twitter. I became an addict for a year. I tweeted nearly every thought in my head. It was the place I expressed myself in almost every situation i'm in, haha. I tweeted comments on football matches, movies, song lyrics and just kept updated and in contact with my friends. Even though i see them almost everyday at school. But then i also made some friends from across the world too. Twitter was awesome, even better than Facebook to be honest. But like everything awesome, many people start to like it. It was starting to become more and more popular, almost like Facebook. I started not to like that. I mean, it was fun when not that many people were using it because you get a little bit more privacy and it wasn't that crowded and it was never Over-Capacity. So after PMR, i deactivated Twitter.
Haha, that was kinda stupid, huh? Should've deactivated a few months BEFORE PMR. Oh well. It was where my best friend and I started to bond, so i have no regrets =)

Now i'm more active on Blogger and Youtube. Lol. Without these two addictive social networking sites, i seem to be spending more time with the real world with real people and with things that really matter. Its kinda great =)

So now, i hope everyone understands. Mainly it is because i am the type of person that doesn't like things that are too popular and overrated(unless its good stuff). It annoys the heck outta me, and i don't know why, but i always feel a teeny bit special when i'm the only person that doesn't have something. I know that sounds lame and so outdated, but meh. I'm special xD.

But hey, i still wanna express my thoughts.
So i found a new social networking site!
Do join in if you want, i have a feeling it won't be overrated for a few years xD.
I don't really know how it works, but this is where i express my thoughts.

Have a nice day!
